In Week 8,  Miss Fletcher gave us a science lesson about Matariki.

Writing Week 7 Term 2 2021 Writing from an image

 In Week 7, we looked at an example of a piece of writing that was inspired by a picture. The writing had lots of personification in it. Then we had to look at 6 different pictures and choose one that we thought might inspire some personification ideas.   I chose to use this picture a lake and some trees and a Mountain.

 In Week 7, we were learning how to write using personification.  We looked at lots of poems that had personification in them and then we had to write our own. We could choose any topic.  I chose to base mine on trees and brunches.

Writing Week 7 Term 2 2021 Environmental Writing: The Old Playground

 In Week 7,  we went outside and looked at the old wooden playground  to see if we could think how to write about it using personification. We tried to think about the old playground as if it were an old person. We wondered what the old playground might look like or do that was like an old person. Here is my work:

Matariki sentences

Week 8 term 2 Matariki is so close so we are doing some activities while Mrs B is on the young leader conference. We had to write some personification sentences about the stars. We also made flax stars. Here are my pieces of work.

Play Make Create Week 7

  In Week Seven of Term 2, we did Play Make Create. This is where the teacher reads you a story and you discuss the message in the story. Then you create something based on the message and also do a piece of writing. You can use materials or make a digital creation.  This week Mrs Craig Read the book: The Day the Crayons Quit.  It was about crayons wanting a rest and fighting about who gets used the most.

 I chose to do yellow crayon and a letter. Here is my work:

Asking questions about classroom objects in Te Reo.

 We have been learning how to ask questions in Te Reo. The question was :

 E aha tēnei? This means: What is this?

Then we had to be able to answer that question several times using different Te Reo words for things we might find in the classroom.
