Addition and subtraction problems
We have been learning to solve addition and subtraction problems using place value. We had to complete these problems using this strategy. I feel good that I can do it.

My speech
My topic is about vets. I picked this topic because vets help animals and are important to NZ. When I presented my speech I felt happy. In my presentation I could work on eye contact.
Here is my speech:
Have you ever wondered how a vet helps our native birds, wild animals and our pets that have been in our world for so many years? A vet is a professional person who is a doctor who helps animals that are sick. I believe that vets are the best. Here are my 3 reasons why.
Firstly, pets like kittens and puppies are really delicate. You have to be gentle with kittens and puppies because they have a lot of tiny bones. Vets will take care of them if they are sick by understanding how their bones fit together and how to handle these young animals carefully.
Secondly, a vet is very important because they help some animals that get into trouble such as animals that eat plastic and could die, which is sad. Vets help to keep all sorts of animals safe, even animals that are endangered. Vets are there to give check ups on animals, put sick animals down, and other stuff to keep our animals safe.
Lastly, you should be careful of what animals you touch because sometimes they can be sick and need to be taken care of by the vets. Animals can get sick really fast so that's why we have vets. They can give them medicines or injections to make them better.
Vets are important people because they look after animals, care and treat animals that are sick and help animals that are in trouble. Animals wouldn’t survive if we didn’t have vets!
